Here's A Little Bit About Me
Oscar Torres is the filmmaker behind OMT Studios — but long before cameras, lighting setups, and production days, there was a seed planted at 15 years old.
The Beginning
I was introduced to entrepreneurship through an external program my mom enrolled me in which was designed to teach collaboration, critical thinking, and business decision-making. I was placed on a team with students from different schools across the Wilmington area — some commuting from miles away. Oscar, fresh out of Freire Charter School of Wilmington, was lucky enough to be within walking distance.

The program gave the team a budget and a challenge: build something profitable.
After bouncing around ideas, they discovered one teammate had access to a heat press machine. Instead of overcomplicating things, they used what was available and created custom bandanas. Production, marketing, and sales were split strategically across each student’s school network to maximize reach.

It was simple. It was scrappy. It worked.
More importantly, it shifted something internally.
It showed him that opportunity isn’t given — it’s created.
Working with Jason Availes – Green Box Kitchen
That same program provided something even more impactful: direct mentorship from established entrepreneurs.

Oscar was paired with Jason Availes, founder of Wilmington Green Box — now known as Green Box Kitchen.
​
Green Box Kitchen is a vegan lifestyle restaurant focused on providing healthy alternatives to the community while educating customers about the limited accessibility of truly nutritious food options. What began as a cold-pressed juice concept evolved into a full menu of vegan wraps, bowls, salads, and beverages designed to make healthy living both accessible and desirable.​
Working alongside Jason exposed Oscar to more than business operations.

The Seed That Grew
That early exposure planted something deeper than business knowledge.
It planted the realization that life does not have to follow a predetermined path.
Growing up, Oscar already sensed he would struggle in a traditional structure — working thousands of hours simply hoping to be noticed, slowly climbing a ladder that didn’t feel aligned. But until that program, he hadn’t seriously considered what the alternative looked like.

Entrepreneurship stopped being abstract.
It became tangible.
That seed eventually grew into OMT Studios.
Today
Today, Oscar is a filmmaker and creative strategist focused on brands that promote better living — gyms, health-forward businesses, purpose-driven companies, and organizations that care about the long-term impact they’re making.

He’s naturally lighthearted and keeps energy high on set. But behind that is intention.
